PUTRAJAYA, 12 Mei 2026 - Telah berlangsung program Persidangan Meja Bulat (RTD): "Menoktahkan Kemiskinan, Mencipta Peluang Masa Depan Belia" anjuran Institut Penyelidikan Pembangunan Belia Malaysia (IYRES KBS) dan PNB Research Institute (PNB RI), di mana Pengurus Besar Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK), Encik Muhammad Sherhan Nizam Abdul Aziz telah dijemput sebagai salah seorang pembentang.

Program bermula pada jam 9 pagi dengan ketibaan YB Mordi Bimol, Timbalan Menteri Belia dan Sukan Malaysia yang telah mempengerusikan sesi. Selepas nyanyian lagu Negaraku dan ucapan pembukaan oleh YB Timbalan Menteri, Pengurus Besar YBK memulakan pembentangan selaku Pembentang Pertama dengan tajuk pembentangan "Basmi Kemiskinan Bina Kesejahteraan".

Beliau telah berkongsi berkenaan definisi miskin serta miskin tegar, statistik kemiskinan mutakhir, dan juga ekosistem YBK yang berjaya mengeluarkan keluarga miskin serta belia daripada putaran ganas kemiskinan. Beliau juga mengutarakan konsep "menjodohkan" yang digerakkan oleh YBK bersama rakan-rakan strategik sebagai kaedah berkesan membantu komuniti melalui program Jelajah Sejuta Harapan YBK.

Hadirin turut mendengar pembentangan indikator ekonomi berkaitan belia berasaskan kajian daripada PNB RI yang disampaikan oleh Dr. Mohd Amirul Rafiq Abu Rahim (Penyelidik PNB RI), juga sesi forum bersama ikon belia.

Program telah dihadiri oleh lebih daripada 100 orang yang terdiri daripada wakil-wakil agensi kerajaan, korporat, NGO, serta persatuan pelajar dan belia. Resolusi program telah dibacakan pada penutup program oleh Puan Shahhanim Yahya, Eksekutif Penyelidik Kanan 1 IYRES. Turut hadir, Dr. Sarena Che Omar (Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif PNB RI).

YBK GENERAL MANAGER AS PRESENTER AT ROUNDTABLE CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY IYRES AND PNB RI

PUTRAJAYA, 12 May 2026 – A Roundtable Discussion (RTD) titled “Ending Poverty, Creating Future Opportunities for Youth” was held, organized by the Malaysian Institute for Research in Youth Development (IYRES KBS) and the PNB Research Institute (PNB RI). The General Manager of Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK), Mr. Muhammad Sherhan Nizam Abdul Aziz, was invited as one of the presenters.

The programme began at 9:00 a.m. with the arrival of YB Mordi Bimol, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, who chaired the session. Following the singing of the national anthem Negaraku and the Deputy Minister’s opening remarks, the YBK General Manager delivered the first presentation titled “Eradicating Poverty, Building Well-Being.”

During his presentation, he shared insights on the definitions of poverty and hardcore poverty, the latest poverty statistics, and YBK’s ecosystem, which has successfully helped poor families and youth break free from the vicious cycle of poverty. He also highlighted the concept of “matching” implemented by YBK together with its strategic partners as an effective approach to supporting communities through the YBK Jelajah Sejuta Harapan Programme.

Participants also attended a presentation on youth-related economic indicators based on research conducted by PNB RI, delivered by Dr. Mohd Amirul Rafiq Abu Rahim (Researcher, PNB RI), as well as a forum session featuring youth icons.

The programme was attended by more than 100 participants, comprising representatives from government agencies, corporations, NGOs, as well as student and youth associations. The programme resolution was presented during the closing session by Ms. Shahhanim Yahya, Senior Research Executive 1 at IYRES. Also present was Dr. Sarena Che Omar, Chief Executive Officer of PNB RI.
