Hardcore Poor Resettlement (Desa Kasih) Programme

Hardcore poor resettlement programme was one of socio-economic programmes planned and implemented by YBK for the period 1996-1999. In this programme, hardcore poor family identified and resettled to new area developed by YBK. Obviously with the cooperation from other government authority YBK had built houses and other basic ammenities such as mosque, community center and road and drainage system.

This Project is the resettlement programe by housing cluster for the hardcore poor who live in deplorable conditions, who do not own houses and/or land. They will be resettled into a new area which is complete with infrastructure. The programme started as early in 1992, the house allocated will assured better life.

Beside the infra-structure YBK also conducted programme on educational, parenting skill, attitude rehabilation, enterperanur skill programme and motivation. Till 1997, YBK has developed 9 resettlement areas consisting of 379 units of houses. There are
